When it comes to South Africa, few people know that the country hosts a thriving handball community.
Handball is a young sport, which is currently played by roughly 6000 players nationwide.
In the Gauteng province, one of the main clubs is Soweto Moletsane Knights, which was started in 2007 by Mr Trevor Neiwenhout.
Initially the team targeted men and ladies at a junior player level (U/16 and U/18). Nowadays it has teams from U/14 till senior level.
The Western Cape Handball team is the current national team champion. At present, there is no national league yet. Though there is an annual national concentration tournament, where all regional provinces battle it up to win the SA title.
