In the second clash of the two best Macedonian teams at VELUX EHF Champions League Round 6, Metalurg made a little surprise by beating the biggest rival in front of his fans – 26:18 (10:12). Key role in success of Lino Cervar’s team had defense and fantastic Rade Mijatovic between the posts, who saved 10 balls in the second half after he replace Darko Stanic. Vardar scored only two goals for 17 minutes of the second half and that was a period in which away team in this match made the clear distance.
Russian sponsor Sergei Samsonenko who still lead Vardar from the bench, took a time-out in 37th minute to stop awful series of his team (13:17), but tonight Metalurg was better rival. Renato Vugrinec and Naumce Mojsovski scored 8 goals both for the winning team, while Timur Dibirov scored 5 for home team who had support of 7000 fans in “Boris Trajkovski” hall tonight…
