“I could talk for days now, but none of us will truly understand the magnitude of Lino’s work as well as his true greatness, until the day comes when Lino would thank everybody and leave Skopje. “ said visibly distressed HC Meshkov Brest’s coach Zeljko Babić of his colleague and mentor Lino Cervar, after the victory against Metalurg 26:25 in Skopje, which put team from Belarus at SEHA F4 in Novi Sad.
Meškov’s David Špiler was full of praise for this win, but didn’t neglect to give credit to the brave Metalurg side.
“We are very proud of this victory. We know of the injury trouble Metalurg is facing with their best players, but nevertheless we are extremely happy and proud of this victory that took us the Final4. I hope Metalurg will soon bounce back from this, and playe their very good handball again. I wish them luck in the Champions League.”
The experienced Lino Červar was calm and composed, during the post match conference, looking at what comes next for his Metalurg team.
“I would like to congratulate the Meškov team, and wish them all the best at the Final4. We shift our focus to Sunday, in our endeavor to heal these two ongoing injuries including the most recent one to young Luka Cindrić. We will try our utmost to overcome these setbacks before we face Kolding on Sunday. Once again, my congratulations (to Meškov)” Said Červar.
“I congratulate Meškov on a deserved victory. We need to keep our heads high and consolidate and stabilize ourselves before our EHF Champions League double-fixture against Kolding, and think we are going to be ready.” Said the defeated but not disheartened Metalurg player, Vuko Borozan after the match.
