The Swiss resizing their League on 10 teams

From season 2012/2013, the best handball League in Switzerland will have 10 teams. That was announced at Monday by Swiss Handball Federation Press conference in Zurich. Ten teams will play in “double round”  system – 18 games. The best six teams will  play then a “Mini League” for the Champion title (10 rounds) and teams at the positions from 7th to 10th will compete for the survival in Elite division. The last team will relegate and second of the bottom will play for the life against second team from the “B” League. The winner of “B” League will directly find his place in SHL.

Currently, Swiss SHL has 12 teams. The champion is Kadetten Schaffhausen.
