“This is Bitola!” Veszprem ashamed in clash with Eurofarm Rabotnik

Telekom Veszprem has suffered the third match in a row! The Hungarian champions are definitely in deep crisis after surprising defeat against Macedonian vice-champions RK Eurofarm Rabotnik 24:26 (8:14) in Bitola.

Domestic team, newcomers at VELUX EHF Champions League, made unforgetable night for home fans at “Boro Curlevski” hall by taking the biggest scalp in the club’s history. Their goalkeeper Nikola Mitrevski was fantastic in the first half with 10 saves (12 in total).

David Davis’ squad, which was with most of the stars (withouth Sterbik, Borozan, Nenadic) has changed approach at the start of the second half, caught rival on 19:19 in 47th minute, but then again went down. Eurofarm’s right back Neven Stjepanovic netted decisive goal at the start of the last minute for the final score – 26:24. After it, Rasmus Lauge Schmidt made foul in attack afterwards celebration could start with “This is Bitola” chant.

Eurofarm Rabotnik playmaker Lovro Jotic netted eight goals for the winners. Dragan Gajic scored nine for Veszprem, with Vladimir Cupara (12 saves), the only one who deserved solid mark in shameful performance of the EHF Champions League finalists…
