Thriller in GETEC Arena: Magdeburg and Kiel Share the Spoils, 26:26

Goal by Henrik Pekeler five seconds from the end earned THW Kiel a point in Magdeburg, 26:26 (13:13), halting the leaders from the GETEC Arena in their winning run. A superb match was played in eastern Germany, with the points able to go either way, but in the end they were shared — only the second time in the 2025 calendar year that Magdeburg have failed to win in front of their fans (after last season’s defeat to Füchse Berlin).

Andi Wolff was outstanding for the visitors with 16 saves, including four saved seven-metre throws, while for the hosts Lukas Mertens was flawless, scoring 6 from 6.

After the draw against Hannover, the “Zebras” stopped their slide in this way and stayed in the race for the places that lead to the EHF Champions League.
