VfL Gummersbach sign Portuguese goalie Diogo Valerio

Talented Portuguese goalkeeper Diogo Valério is the new member of the German 2nd League squad VfL Gummersbach.

One of the most successful team in history of our sport on the All-Time list of European handball has found the replacement for Croatian goalie Filip Ivic who left to RK Celje Pivovarna Lasko.

The 22-years old Valerio is coming from SL Benfica, where he didn’t get a chance in the previous season (he was loaned to Belenenses). He signed three-years deal with the famous German team.

Valerio was one of the best goalkeepers at last year Junior World Championship 2019 for generation 1998, the hero of the quarter-final win of Portugal against Slovenia.
