Shocking decision by European Handball Federation to cancel World Championship 2021 Play-Off without any kind of postponing, put some ambitious handball nations in position to asking for wild-card to find their way to the next event which will be held in Egypt in January 2021.
Five national teams have applied for the World Championship 2021 special invitation. The International Handball Federation has two possibilities to help teams to play in Egypt.
North Macedonia as the first team from Pot 2, Montenegro, Serbia who is the only team beside Poland who won the medal in the last decade, Russia as the biggest European market and Poles as the next host of the World Championship 2023, believe that deserving wild-card.
