SEHA GAZPROM LEAGUE: “Boom boom” mode of Markovic-Mandalinic in Velenje

Two matches of SEHA GAZPROM League have been played on Tuesday night in Slovenia. RK Nexe gave a good resistance to favorite in Celje’s Zlatorog hall, but at the end, despite chance to score in the last attack, Croatian vice-champions didn’t manage to win the match – 27:27. RK Celje Pivovarna Lasko lost the rhythm after many injuries which hit Branko Tamse’s roster. In home team squad Gal Marguc netted seven goals, like experienced Nexe’s left back Sasa Barisic Jaman.

RK PPD Zagreb ended “black series” in Velenje by beating RK Gorenje 25:23 (12:14). Home team had 20:19a in 50th minute, but then Zagreb’s left back Stipe Mandalinic took match in his hands by scoring four “bombs” until the end. Mandalinic and right back Zarko Markovic (9) netted 17 od 25 goals of their team, who is now again on the winning road, but tough challenges in VELUX EHF Champions League waiting for them…
