Borut Mackovsek will stay at RK Celje Pivovarna Lasko until 2020! The new two years deal between 25-years old Slovenian left back and national handball brand was announced today in the club’s office. Mackovsek exploded in season 2012/2013 in Celje’s jersey, when he declined offer from SG Flensburg Handewitt and joined TSV Hannover Burgdorf.
He didn’t find himself in DKB Bundesliga, but also in Montpellier Handball and Eisenach, where he spent time before comeback to “Zlatorog” hall.
He became vital part of Branko Tamse’s squad and got a chance to be a part of succesful Slovenian national team story at World Championship 2017, where they won bronze medal. Staying at home it’s a “smart decision” for him…
Mackovsek’s career:
RK Celje Pivovarna Laško (2011-2013, finish of season 2014, 2016- ), Hannover (2013), Dinamo Minsk (2014), Montpellier HB (2014-2015), ThSV Eisenach (2015-16)
