Barcelona punched their ticket to the final after a 26:21 semi-final win over Al Ahly in Egypt. The Spaniards grabbed an early lead (14:8 at halftime) and held on despite Al Ahly’s efforts to cut the margin in the closing minutes.
Meanwhile, Veszprém edged past SC Magdeburg in the other semi-final with a tight 23:20 victory — a clash that echoed last year’s final showdown between the same two clubs.
