Six months past after the Olympic quarter-final (August 16) match in Rio between Poland and Croatia. The Croatian left back and Telekom Veszprem star Ivan Sliskovic didn’t play handball since than. Diagnosis – mononucleosis put the 25-years old shooter, who had very promising first season after arrival from Slovenian RK Celje Pivovarna Laško, far away from the court.
Season is almost lost. Still is unknown when he will be ready to play on the TOP level, but Sliskovic believes in come-back:
- I still recovering, but infection together with exhaustion made disbalance in my body, so process is going slow. I practice, but still only in the corner, when team’s working. I am far away from 100% and has to be careful with load. It is positive that I will start to work with the team soon. Handball after almost six months? I hope that I will come-back as soon as possible – said Sliskovic to Balkan-Handball.com, who had debut for Croatia at big stage at Men’s EHF EURO 2014 in Denmark.
