Aalborg Håndbold sign Magnus Landin

The Danish national team player will join Aalborg Håndbold this summer on a four-year contract.
The 30-year-old Magnus Landin will therefore become part of the Aalborg Håndbold squad for the 2026/27 season after representing Germany’s THW Kiel since 2018.
The powerful left wing is another reinforcement for the North Jutland side, which already features as many as 11 players who took part in the European Championship finals in January—including three Danish gold medalists.
Over many years, Magnus has proven that he is among the very best in the world in his position on the left wing. He is extremely effective in attack, and defensively he has major strengths that will raise our level even further. His achievements and experience speak for themselves, and we know that players at this level are required if we are to succeed with our stated objective of winning the EHF Champions League.
And the fact that we can add another Danish national team player to our squad, and reunite the Landin brothers in Aalborg, is of course an extra bonus for us, says team manager Martin Larsen.
Magnus Landin is looking forward to moving to Aalborg Håndbold, which will also mean a reunion with his older brother Niklas Landin, with whom he previously played at THW Kiel—where he was also club teammates with current Aalborg players Sander Sagosen and Lukas Nilsson.
I chose Aalborg Håndbold because it’s a really great club and a really strong team, which in recent years has only gotten better and better, both nationally and internationally. They have established themselves right at the top, and that is of course something I want to be a part of.
It also means a lot that I will be reunited with Niklas, and I’d be lying if I said it didn’t matter to me. I didn’t think it could happen again, but when the opportunity arose, it was naturally also part of my considerations, says Magnus Landin.
Like his brother, Magnus Landin is one of the few players in the world to have won World Championship, European Championship and Olympic gold, as well as the Champions League. He has also previously won a Danish championship with KIF Kolding København, along with three German championships and three cup titles with THW Kiel.
Aalborg Håndbold are currently in first place in the Danish Bambuni Herreliga and, with six rounds remaining, have already secured first place in the regular season. This past weekend they won the Danish cup title for the second year in a row, while in the Machineseeker EHF Champions League they sit second in their group after 11 matches.
On Saturday afternoon, their next domestic league match awaits away from home against Fredericia HK.
