One of the best World’s line-players in the last few years, Begona Fernandez (32) wil leave Spain for the first time in her proffesional career. She signs contract with ambitious Serbian champion, RK Zajecar, who has strong wish to qualify for the EHF Champions League for the first time.
Begona Fernandez has been voted for the Best line player at EHF EURO 2008 in Macedonia and WCh 2009 in China. She played in the EHF CL Final 2011, when Itxako lost against Larvik. Fernandez has played for Itxako from 2008 to 2012. In 2009, she won EHF Cup with the team. Before Navarra, she played for Elda Prestigio (2005-2008)
With Spain, she won European silver (2008).
HC Zajecar already have one Spanish girl in the squad. That is Marta Mangue, one of the most attractive players in female handball. Serbian team reached Cup Winners Cup 2011/2012 1/4 Finals.
