In an interesting interview for Balkan-Handball.com, “Alfa and Omega” of Croatian handball and champion, C.O Zagreb, Zoran Gobac admit that club is interested to sign another line player, French NT member from VfL Gummersbach, Igor Anic (23).
– We are talking with him. He has one more year of contract with the Germans, but there are some options to come this summer.
Gobac and Anic’s father, Zeljko (former coach of HC Medimurje) are in good relationship and that can be another reason for this transfer.
Another interesting thing Gobac said about his goalkeepers wishes in the past:
– We are stronly believe in Marin Sego. From second or even third option, with huge work, Sego became NO. 1. It was an option that Danijel Saric come to Zagreb, but everything fall down after Arpad Sterbik refused Barcelona and decided to stay in Ciudad Real. We wanted him in a a package – NT and Zagreb, but that didn’t happened. With this performance against THW Kiel, he probably deserved a new contract in Catalonia.
After he was member of Serbia and Montenegro national squad (last appearance at EHF EURO 2006), Danijel Saric decided to play for NT of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he was born (Doboj – Serbian part of BiH).
