Champions League Milestones: Gidsel’s 13, Costa’s Century

Füchse Berlin, after defeating Melsungen, also celebrated an away victory over Kielce. The team led by Nikolaj Krickau looked quite dominant in Poland — and rightfully so, with Mathias Gidsel delivering an outstanding performance with 13 goals and Dejan Milosavljev making 17 saves.

Gidsel’s 13-goal haul, last season’s top scorer in the EHF Champions League with 135 goals, also marks his personal best. The brilliant Dane continues to shine and thrill handball fans across the continent.

In Sporting’s loss to Aalborg, the fantastic young Portuguese player Francisco Costa scored six goals, which was enough to cross the 100-goal milestone in Europe’s premier club competition. The right back, who turned 20 in February, has now reached 103 goals, and we can only imagine how many scoring records lie ahead of him…
