CROATIA – HUNGARY 33:26 (19:14)
The defeated teams from the semifinals met for the third place match. Croatia had a tough game against France and lost, while Hungary was beaten by only one goal by Sweden in the semifinal. Now it was all about the bronze medal and not finishing fourth. The Goluza boys took the job seriously already from the beginning and they started breaking the result in the 15th minute when they took a two-goal lead, and this lead grew to five goals by halftime, 19-14 for Croatia. In the second half it was easier to play with such big advantage for them, and despite getting down to three goals negative the Hungarians couldn’t do more and lost the game to the deservedly better team. In the end Croatia won 33-26. Cupic led Croatia with 8 goals, while Lackovic contributed with 7. Harsanyi scored 7 for Hungary, while Nagy had 6.
