Denmark on Top: Handball-Planet.com EHF EURO 2026 Power Ranking Revealed

Denmark’s national team are the leading favourites to win the gold medal at EHF EURO 2026. Four-time consecutive world champions and the Olympic champions from Paris are chasing the last major title missing from their collection — the EHF EURO trophy. Nikolaj Jacobsen, Mathias Gidsel, Simon Pytlick and a new generation of outstanding players have a great chance to do, in front of 15,000 home fans at BOXEN, what Denmark last achieved in Belgrade in 2012.
In the Handball-Planet.com POWER RANKING, Germany sit in second place. The Olympic runners-up will aim to repeat their success from Lille, where they reached the final — again against Denmark — while the next teams in the medal race would be the most successful nation in EHF EURO history, Sweden, and Iceland, who finished second in the main round group in Malmö.
“Below the line” for the final weekend would be, above all, France and Hungary. Croatia, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Norway and Montenegro would follow them.
