Stevče Alušovski Returns: Eurofarm Pelister Name New Head Coach

Macedonian champions RK Eurofarm Pelister have resolved their coaching situation, which had been open since the resignation of Spaniard Ruben Garabaya.

After two Spanish head coaches (Raul Alonso left the club after winning the 2025 title), Stevče Alušovski is returning to the bench of the Bitola-based team.

The former left wing of the national team and all the leading Macedonian clubs—who also has an impressive coaching résumé—will lead Pelister in the second part of the season. His goals will be to win domestic trophies, while at least four matches in the EHF Champions League also await.

“Our new start in 2026 is linked to a well-known name. Stevče Alušovski is the new head coach of Eurofarm Pelister and will lead our team until the end of this season. The 53-year-old coach is returning to his home club after several years, this time as the head coach of the Macedonian champions. Alušovski has coached a Bitola club on two occasions—Pelister and Eurofarm Rabotnik—and now takes over Eurofarm Pelister. Our celebrated international began both his playing and coaching career in Bitola. In Macedonian handball, he has coached Vardar 1961 and Ohrid, and he also had a short spell in Iceland. The first roll call under the new coach is scheduled for Wednesday (14 January) at 17:00,” the club said in a statement.

Alušovski’s last appointment was with Ohrid, a position he left at the end of last season.
