One of the biggest youth tournament in Europe, Dronninglund Cup 2020 is canceled. Here is the statement of the organizers.
We regret to inform you that Dronninglund Cup 2020 has been cancelled.
The decision is based on the announcement by Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen at a press conference on Monday evening on 6 April during which it was stated that events which include large assemblies will not be allowed in Denmark until August 31, 2020 at the earliest.
We are, of course, following the guidelines of the authorities as it is our responsibility – and within our community spirit – to fight the Corona pandemic, both at national and international level.
Dronninglund Cup has been held every year since 1978, and we were really looking forward to welcoming more than 3,000 handball players from all over the world this year again this summer – but the weelbeing and good health of our participants must be prioritized.
Now, we are already looking forward to Dronninglund Cup 2021, which will be held from 12 to 17 July 2021.
