FC Porto and Meshkov Brest celebrated their new wins at the VELUX EHF Champions League Group C. Portuguese champions had furious 40 minutes in Novi Sad against 4.000 home fans (19:9), but Vojvodina managed to come back on 23:25 five minutes before the final buzzer. However, Porto led by fantastic goalie Hugo Laurentino kept the advantage until the end – 27:23 (14:8).
Rodrigues Areia and Brito Duarte scored five goals each for the winners, while line-player Zoran Nikolić netted six for the Serbs.
Another Serbian line-player were dominant tonight. That was the role of Rastko Stojković, who netted 10 goals in win of his Meshkov Brest against Chekhovskie Medvedi 33:27 (17:14). Dainis Kristopans added 8 goals on the final winning score, while Kotov scored six for the home team.
