FC Barcelona Crowned World Club Champion After Epic Final!
FC Barcelona are the new IHF Men’s Club World Champions! Antonio Carlos Ortega’s team defeated Hungarian giants Telekom Veszprém 31:30 in a dramatic final that lasted four extra periods.
Veszprém led 30:29 with a minute and a half left on the clock and possession in their hands, but Barça produced a stunning turnaround with late goals from Ludovic Fabregas and Aleix Gómez in the dying seconds.
Gómez finished as Barcelona’s top scorer with six goals, matching Nedim Remili’s tally on the opposite side.
Despite defeat, Veszprém’s Rodrigo Corrales was named MVP of the tournament thanks to his outstanding performances between the posts.
