The Spanish champions FC Barcelona Lassa will have a new name in the backline for the new season. The 28-years old Portuguese left back Gilberto Duarte signed a year contract with the most successful team in the history of handball, according to Handball-Planet.com sources.
Duarte is a member of the Polish Orlen Wisla Plock since summer 2017. The 197cm tall shooter netted 54 goals for the “Oilers” in the current season of the VELUX EHF Champions League, but that didn’t help team to achieve TOP 16 phase for the second season in a row.
Duarte should replace the 26-years old Tunisian star Wael Jallouz, who will obviously lost his place at “Blaugrana”.
His previous club is FC Porto.
