Igor Karacic to join RK Zagreb

Celebrated Croatian national team player Igor Karačić will play for Zagreb following his departure from Kielce.
The brilliant playmaker from Mostar, now 36, has put on the jersey of the Croatian champion.
“I’m very happy and proud to have become part of Zagreb’s handball family and to now represent our colors in Croatia and Europe. I thank the club’s management for giving me this opportunity. There were quite a few options for continuing my career, but in the end, some intuition led me to wait as long as necessary, to not sign anything too early, and that’s how I ended up where I was meant to be. The step I needed to take came with signing for Zagreb, and I’m happy to remain part of the Champions League, and to be part of such a big brand like Zagreb. I will wear these colors with pride and can promise that I’ll give every ounce of energy to represent RK Zagreb as best as I can, just as I did with the national team. I’ll give my all to help the team achieve our goals and to go a step further than last season. I’m aware of how hard everyone at the club is working and how much the public expects Zagreb to take a leap forward. I’m confident that we can do it already this season, and as someone who has played in the Champions League Final Four multiple times, I’ll keep dreaming that dream here in Zagreb,” said the popular “Kara” during his presentation in the Croatian capital.
Karačić won the EHF Champions League with Vardar Skopje twice, in 2017 and 2019, and reached the finals with Polish powerhouse Kielce in 2022 and 2023.
