Matej Mandic to SC Magdeburg, Haris Suljevic in Zagreb

The goalkeeper carousel that has been the main topic in the handball world these days spun between Magdeburg and Zagreb.
The decision of the anti-doping agency to keep Nikola Portner off the court until December, when the brilliant goalkeeper will be able to return to the goal of the EHF Champions League winners – Magdeburg, forced Bennet Wiegert to look for a new solution. His choice fell on a young man who already had a contract signed with the club starting from 2026 – Matej Mandić.
The excellent young goalkeeper is arriving in Magdeburg earlier than planned, while part of the compensation fee was used by Zagreb to bring in another player who made his name at Izviđač from Ljubuški, impressing with his performances in last season’s EHF Cup, before signing a contract with the Spanish side Cangas.
He will now join Ante Grbavac in Zagreb.
