Meshkov Brest have won the first match of the EHF Champions League season.
Thanks to Bosnian right back Marko Panic, domestic team outplayed RK Vardar 24:22 (12:10) in intensive battle where both teams had equal chances to take points.
Panic netted seven goals in total, but the most important, the one in the last attack, where Vardar’s players desperately were trying to catch the ball and get at least a point.
The North Macedonian champions came in front after five goals minus (15:10) in the second half – 15:17, but not many options in attack prevailed on side of the Belarussian champions.
Marko Vujin was TOP scorer in defeated team with six goals.
