Shock Start for Füchse: Krickau’s Debut Ends in Heavy Defeat to Magdeburg

The dismissal of Jaron Siewert in Berlin and the appointment of Nikolaj Krickau, coming right after the championship title, the Super Cup, and the EHF Champions League final, was a real bombshell for Füchse Berlin. If the debut of the Danish coach in the “Max Schmeling” Arena is anything to go by, it shook the club hard. In the very first match—arguably the toughest, since the opponent was the main title contender, Magdeburg—the “Foxes” looked unrecognizable, losing heavily 32:39.
Bennet Wiegert’s team played like clockwork, at one point leading by as many as +11 (23:34).
