Strong France and furious Russia celebrate first wins!

France and Russia opened Olympic tournament with victories.

The French team won a „chess party“ over Netherlands 18:14 (10:6). Krumbholz’s team prevented easy goals of famous „run and gun“ Dutch girls, and that was a way to the first success in Rio. Only six received goals in the first 30 minutes, with strong defense and perfect Leynaud, showed the TOP class of the French girls.

Estavana Polman netted for 12:12 in 44th minute, but after time-out of the French bench, everything looked as from the begining of the match. French domination and victory at the end wasn’t questionable.

Pineau and Lacabrere netted five goals each for the winners, while Van Der Heijden, Abbingh and Groot scored three each for the Dutch team.

In the second match of Group B, Russian girls took the first points at Olympic tournament in Rio after furious finish against South Korea 30:25 (12:13). Evgeny Trefilov’s squad looked lost in 37th minute, when Asian girls scored for +7 – 13:20, but everything until the final whistle was colored by Russian colors. Simply, with unstoppable lefthander’s duo Sudakova (6 ) and Vyakhireva (5) and amazing Kalinina between the posts, Russia balanced result in 51st minute – 23:23, and that wasn’t all.

Until the last second, Russian defense stayed on the highest possible level to secure the first triumph on the biggest stage – Olympic one.

Yura Jung netted six goals for Korea.
