The Portuguese Benfica won domestic Super Cup trophy by beating the reigning champions ABC Braga 25:24 in Setubal. The EHF Challenge Cup finalists clashed once again at the start of the new season, but this time “Red Dragons” won.
Pedro Seabra, Nuno Grilo for ABC and Fabio Vidrago for Benfica netted five goals each.
Madeira SAD beat Sports Madeira 28:18 for the women’s Super Cup Trophy.
