Season in Germany is over! Clubs of the first and second league have decided to close the most demanding chapter in the modern history of handball, sport and life.
Decisions are following…
THW Kiel is first in the table “German Champion” of the 2019/20 season
– SG Flensburg-Handewitt is second in the table and therefore also qualified for the Champions League 2020/21
– Table positions 3-5 entitle you to participate in the Euro League (previously EHF Cup) 2020/21. SC Magdeburg, TSV Hannover-Burgdorf, Rhein-Neckar Löwen are qualified)
– HSC 2000 Coburg is champion of the 2nd handball Bundesliga
– Rising star in LIQUI MOLY HBL: HSC 2000 Coburg and TUSEM Essen (second place)
– Relegation rule: There are no athletic relegations from the 1st and 2nd Handball Bundesliga
– Promoters from 3rd leagues: After coordination with the German Handball Federation instead of three teams as stipulated in the basic contract, in the coming season four clubs from the four 3rd leagues will move up to the 2nd HBL
