After losing match in Kiel at the start of the second part of the season, it is clear that Telekom Veszprem are under pressure for the rest of the Preliminary Round of the VELUX EHF Champions League in which Hungarian champions missed chance to win the Group and qualify directly for the quarter-finals.
Something of that could be caught in words of Veszprem’s coach Ljubomir Vranjes, (vehirsport.hu) about challenges which are facing in his work:
- I was disappointed with some of my players after the game. Sometimes things affect our game, which does not have to do with handball and I have no influence on it. I’m angry because there were people who could not rule out these factors – said Vranjes and added:
– We’re gonna run from now on. I’m tired that although we have a good defense, we can not use it. In the future, they will have a greater role to play at the speed that I expect. I like the aggressive, tough defense, after which you can run your opponent. I like fast attack, but I have to see that this is not possible with some of my players because they do not have the speed to do this. When I came here I decided to create a new system. I did not want to switch from one game to another from moment to time, I planned to build on a step-by-step basis. However, I still see the old game on the team. I think this will not change much until the end of the season, except that we are joining a higher gear. There is no need to start a new starting line against Breszt, but I expect a faster game and I want to see some tactical changes. I would like to see the group again as a unified team. I expect all of my players to be absolutely focused and they know exactly what their job is and what they are doing on the court – said Vranjes.
Meshkov Brest are the next rivals of the Veszprem on Saturday at Veszprem Arena.
