Kim Rasmussen at “new start” with MKS Perla Lublin

Handball career is always full of up and down moments. This is something that experienced Danish coach Kim Rasmussen. After bad results at World Championship 2019 in Japan, where his team Hungary didn’t reach Main Round, the 47-years old Dane came in confrontation with IHF after some statements, which is “no-no” situation for any handball Federation in the world of handball.

Rasmussen had to pay full price, lost his job and tried to get a rest and more power for some new challenges. The one starts in Poland, a country where he had a lot of success by leading the Polish national team to the two semi-finals of the World Championship 2013 and 2015, which have been a huge surprise in the moment.

Rasmussen, who won the EHF Champions League with CSM Bucharest in 2016, overtook a job in Polish champions MKS Perla Lublin. The Dane brought 6 new players – Croatian goalkeeper Marina Razum, Brazilian Jaqueline Anastacio, Montenegrian right back Djurdjina Malović and line-player Andrijana Tatar as well as Polish girls Magda Balsam and Paulina Wdowiak.

Contracts with MKS have also been extended with Marta Gęga, Dominika Więckowska, Weronika Gawlik, Joanna Szarawaga, Aleksandra Rosiak, Patrycja Królikowska, Aleksandra Olek and Dagmara Nocuń.

The team will play at new-formed EHF European League.
