One of the biggest strentgh of the Polish national team in the last decade, line player Bartosz Jurecki, decided to finish his career in the national team after Olympic Games in Rio. The 37-years old, older brother of left back Michal, had debut for the white “Eagles” in 2004, while the most succesful years where 2007 (the world’s silver at WCh 2007 in Germany), 2009 and 2015, when Poles were winning two bronze medals at World Championships in Croatia and Qatar.
Hard-worker, Jurecki, spent the best part of his club’s career in German SC Magdeburg.
– I am proud that I played for so many years with the Eagle on my chest. In every game I gave it 100 percent. It is a pity that I leave the guys, but the time has come – said Jurecki.
