Timur Dibirov retires in summer 2025!
Russian left wing, legendary Timur Dibirov announced in open letter for domestic media (SPORTS.ru) that he will end his career after this season.
— The hardest thing for us now is the distance. I am with my son in Zagreb, Ira with her daughter in Rostov. That is why I decided: I will finish the season and end my career. I want to be there. You know, I say that one more season and that’s it, and I get goosebumps. Has this moment really come? The Champions League is still a drug – even at 41, even in my 21st season in the tournament. I wanted to show myself, to hear the stands, to win, just like the first time. I feel great in terms of motivation and health. But it is very difficult for me without my family. As I have said many times: playing at this age is a privilege. So I just want to enjoy the moment. I am sure I will have a strong season: if I finished 17 with 50+ goals, then why can’t I do 18? – wrote Dibirov.
