Zoran Ilic and Luka Stepancic join Wisla Plock

Orlen Wisla Plock will have Luka Stepancic on the right back position until end of the season.

Experienced 35-years old Croatian shooter is coming back to Europe after experience of playing in Kuwait.

– After a short stint in Kuwait, I am happy and honored to announce that I have become a part of the ORLEN Wisła Płock family. This is the best possible way to return to European handball in a club playing at the highest level. As soon as I received the call and the offer, I did not hesitate for a moment and made the decision very quickly. As a true handball fan, I have always had great respect for the club, players, staff and fans of ORLEN Wisła Płock. I hope that I will be able to help the team in the coming months to end this season together in the best possible way. I can guarantee that I will give my all on and off the pitch to make the fans of Nafciarze happy. I hope that at the end of the season we will celebrate together. I am looking forward to meeting my new teammates and starting a new chapter in the Blue-White-Blue colors. – said Luka Stepančić.

Long-term solution from the summer 2025 in Plock will be Hungarian right back Zoran Ilic. The 22-years old lefthander has signed three years contract after two seasons with HSV Handball. Raised in Veszprem, Ilic has huge experience of playing on the highest level in an early part of proffesional career.

  • First of all, I am very excited to be back in Płock. I can’t wait to join the team and play in front of the fans who support me, which couldn’t happen when I was there due to the pandemic. I already have friends in the team like Gergő Fazekas and Zoltán Szita, with whom I play in the Hungarian national team, which will definitely make my adaptation process much easier. Of course, I will work at the maximum level to help achieve our future goals and to be the most useful member of our team. I always remember ORLEN Wisła Płock with great fondness, as I liked playing and living there, so when the chance to come back arose, I decided to do it without any doubts, – commented Zoran Ilić.
