Topic of the Week: SEHA as a future of “South Stream”?

President of Macedonian handball Federation and vice-president of SEHA, Mihajlo Mihajlovski announced that SEHA League will get general sponsorship from the Russian OIL gigant GASPROM. League has to be even more competitive and in that way teams from Serbia (RK Partizan), Hungary (MKB Veszprem and Pick Szeged) and Poland (Orlen Wisla Plock and Vive Targi Kielce) will be asked to join competition where already playing C.O Zagreb, NEXE, Metalurg and Vardar Skopje, Tatran Presov, Borac Banja Luka, etc…

What do you think about that? Do you think that this League has potential to become maybe the best European League after DKB Bundesliga or not? Handball-Planet.com wants to heard your opinion?

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

Hopefully this idea will eventually come true! At the moment Polish league is weak except for two top teams, the performing level is decreasing and our national team is incapable of coming back to its golden years which are not remote. Constant raising of hanball standards demands not only systematic appearance in EHF Champions League (it’s just 12 matches per season in case of reaching TOP 16), but also more frequent clashes with strong clubs. I think that for instance Hungarian participants of EHFCL would agree.
To conclude, there are but two ways for Polish HB to advance:
    1. Mass players emigration to stronger European Leagues
    2. Involvement to SEHA
I would rather prefer the second way.
