Bad season’s start of Telekom Veszprem turned into the spectacular finish. The Hungarian vice-champions qualified to Cologne for the fifth time! Team of Davis Davis had easier job than expected against SG Flensburg Handewitt! After 28:22 win in Germany, domestic team had routine job to save +6 in front of home fans at Veszprem Arena. They did it 29:25 (17:13) even Germans had surprising 0:5 start which forced Veszprem’s bench to call time-out. Dragan Gajic was TOP scorer with six goals, Andreas Nilsson added five, while on the other side Hampus Wanne netted seven.
Telekom Veszprem have lost three EHF Champions League finals, the most memorable one in 2016 against PGE Vive Kielce.
